About Us
The tremendous potential of offshore floating solar for the energy markets is clear.
We see it as a moral duty to enable its acceleration.
WHAT WE ARE ABOUT
-
As from 2019 Tractebel, DEME, and Jan De Nul Group bring together experts in the field of solar PV technology, marine energy and aquaculture to build pioneering offshore solar energy systems.
-
The partners believe that Seavolt can be an innovative solution for green local energy production and provide further diversification of energy markets.
-
Launched as a VLAIO-supported Blue Cluster innovation project, the ongoing development recently received further support from the Federal Government under the scheme of the Energietransitiefonds (EcoMPV) and the Belgian Relaunch Plan complemented with private investment by the partners.
-
The partners test installation is launched in the Belgian North Sea on the 2th of September 2023. This test installation will gather during one year data for further research into technologies and ecosystem integration.
-
The partners are pursuing further development towards commercialization of the technology. The addition of offshore floating solar to current and future offshore wind sites presents a golden opportunity. The Dutch government has put a 3GW target for Offshore solar power by 2030 with other countries to follow.
